The 32-year-old Bosnian midfielder of Sharjah, a former player of the Russian national team Miralem Pjanic spoke about his attitude towards the suspension of Russian clubs and the national team from international competitions.

“It's a shame that Russian football is now outside of Europe. UEFA and FIFA took the wrong decision. Sport must be out of politics,” Pjanic said in an interview with Sport24.

Recall that in February, after the start of a special operation in Ukraine, UEFA and FIFA suspended Russian clubs and the national team from participating in competitions under their auspices.

In May, UEFA decided to extend the suspension of Russian teams from European competition for the 2022/23 season. Later, FIFA extended the suspension of the Russian national team from participating in the 2022 World Cup.
