Penn State's Micah Parsons apologizes for storming out of press conference
Nittany Lions' All-American linebacker walked out on reporters following Tuesday's practice
Parsons says he was 'frustrated' with the line of questioning
Penn State All-American linebacker Micah Parsons apologized Wednesday for storming out of a press conference following Tuesday's practice.
Parsons, who is considered one of the top prospects for the 2021 NFL Draft, abruptly ended the press conference after being asked about his role in the team's defense this season.
In a statement released through the university, Parsons said he was "frustrated" with the line of questioning and that he "reacted poorly."
"I apologize to the reporters who were present and to Penn State fans," Parsons said. "I understand that I have a responsibility to the media and to the public, and I will do my best to be more cooperative in the future."
Parsons' apology comes one day after Penn State coach James Franklin said he was "disappointed" with the linebacker's behavior.
"Micah is a great player and a good person," Franklin said. "But he made a mistake yesterday, and he knows it. He apologized to me and to the team, and we're moving on."
Parsons is expected to play a major role for Penn State this season. The Nittany Lions open their season on Sept. 4 against Indiana.
