Coach Prime’s Ex-Wife Pilar Sanders Blasts Cincinnati’s Foul Play as Son Shedeur Faces Injury Scare
Pilar Sanders, the ex-wife of Jackson State football coach Deion Sanders, has accused the University of Cincinnati of "foul play" after her son, Shedeur Sanders, suffered an injury during the Bearcats' 24-13 win over the Tigers on Saturday.
In a series of tweets, Sanders claimed that Cincinnati's players "intentionally" targeted her son, who is Jackson State's starting quarterback. She also accused the Bearcats of "dirty play" and said that the university should be "ashamed" of its behavior.
The University of Cincinnati has not yet responded to Sanders' allegations.
Shedeur Sanders left the game in the fourth quarter after being sacked by Cincinnati defensive lineman Jabari Taylor. He was diagnosed with a sprained MCL and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
The injury is a major blow to Jackson State, which is currently ranked No. 1 in the FCS. The Tigers are now 4-1 on the season and will face their toughest test yet when they travel to No. 2-ranked North Carolina A&T next week.
Pilar Sanders' allegations are sure to add fuel to the rivalry between Jackson State and Cincinnati. The two schools have met twice in the past two seasons, with each team winning once.
The next meeting between the two schools is scheduled for October 29 in Cincinnati.
