Penn State Football Coach James Franklin Apologizes for Press Conference Reaction
Franklin's Outburst Draws Criticism
Penn State football coach James Franklin has apologized for his reaction during a press conference following the team's 41-17 loss to Ohio State on Saturday.
Franklin was visibly frustrated during the press conference, and at one point he snapped at a reporter who asked him about the team's performance.
In a statement released on Sunday, Franklin apologized for his behavior.
"I Was Wrong"
"I was wrong to react the way I did," Franklin said in the statement. "I am a passionate person, and I want to win more than anything, but that is no excuse for my behavior."
Franklin said he has spoken to the reporter he snapped at and apologized to him personally.
"I Represent Penn State"
"I also want to apologize to our fans, our players, and our university," Franklin said. "I represent Penn State, and I need to do better."
Franklin said he is committed to learning from his mistake and being a better role model.
"I Will Do Better"
"I will do better," Franklin said. "I am grateful for the opportunity to coach at Penn State, and I will continue to work hard to make our fans and our university proud."
