Michigan injury news puts lighter to the fuse on Sherrone Moore’s hot seat
Wolverine’s injury bug has bitten again. This time, the victim is running back Sherrone Moore.
Moore suffered a hamstring injury in practice on Tuesday, and he is expected to miss the next two to three weeks. This is a major blow to the Wolverines, as Moore was expected to be a key part of their offense this season.
Moore rushed for over 1,000 yards and scored 11 touchdowns last season. He was also a key contributor in the passing game, catching 25 passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns.
With Moore out, the Wolverines will be counting on a number of other running backs to step up.
Junior Zach Charbonnet is the most experienced running back on the roster. He has rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of the past two seasons.
Sophomore Donovan Edwards is another talented running back who is expected to play a bigger role this season. He rushed for over 700 yards and scored eight touchdowns last season.
True freshman CJ Hicks is a highly touted recruit who could also see some playing time this season. He was rated as a five-star recruit by 247Sports.
Moore’s injury is a major setback for the Wolverines, but they have the depth to overcome it.
Charbonnet, Edwards, and Hicks are all talented running backs who can step up and fill the void left by Moore.
The Wolverines will need to get healthy and stay healthy if they want to compete for a Big Ten championship this season. They have a lot of talent on their roster, but they need to be able to stay on the field in order to reach their full potential.
