The Nikitsky Botanical Garden is preparing for the traditional "Chrysanthemum Ball"
In autumn, the Nikitsky Botanical Garden traditionally hosts an exhibition of chrysanthemums, the most popular autumn flowers. The exposition "Chrysanthemum Ball" will open in the garden on October 22 and will last until the end of November.
The ball will present 400 varieties of chrysanthemums
The exhibition will feature about 400 varieties of chrysanthemums. Guests of the exhibition will be able to see the classic white chrysanthemums, which symbolize purity, as well as bright yellow ones, which are considered a symbol of success and prosperity. Visitors will also see unusual varieties of chrysanthemums, such as the "Spider" variety with narrow, pointed petals, the "Pompon" variety with small, round petals, and the "Spherical" variety with spherical inflorescences.
Chrysanthemums in the landscape design
In addition to admiring the beauty of chrysanthemums, visitors to the exhibition will learn how to use these flowers in landscape design. Specialists of the Nikitsky Botanical Garden will tell you which varieties of chrysanthemums are best suited for creating borders, flowerpots and rock gardens. Visitors will also learn how to care for chrysanthemums in order to extend their flowering period.
