Celtics 124, Detroit 118: Teammates step up as Jayson Tatum sits

Jayson Tatum did not play for the Celtics Tuesday night, but that didn't stop the Celtics from picking up their fourth straight win, as they beat the Detroit Pistons at Little Caesars Arena.

Malcolm Brogdon led the Celtics with 25 points, followed by Jaylen Brown with 22 and Al Horford with 19. Derrick White added 17 points for the Celtics, and Robert Williams III chipped in with 12.

The Celtics got off to a fast start, taking a 21-6 lead in the first quarter. The Pistons closed to within 30-26 at the end of the first, but the Celtics were able to maintain a double-digit lead for most of the game.

Detroit cut the lead to 96-91 with just over 5 minutes to play, but the Celtics answered with a 9-0 run to put the game away.

The Celtics improved to 27-12 with the win, while the Pistons fell to 12-30.

The Celtics will be back in action on Friday, when they host the Toronto Raptors.
