West Ham United boss David Moyes makes seven changes to XI for Carabao Cup trip to Blackburn
All the latest Hammers news ahead of tonight's match
David Moyes has made seven changes to his starting line-up for West Ham United's Carabao Cup third round tie with Blackburn Rovers tonight, with Alphonse Areola handed a full debut.
Areola comes in for Lukasz Fabianski, while Vladimir Coufal, Thilo Kehrer, Angelo Ogbonna, Emerson Palmieri, Manuel Lanzini and Said Benrahma are all recalled to the side.
Craig Dawson, Ben Johnson, Aaron Cresswell, Declan Rice and Pablo Fornals all drop out of the team that started Saturday's 3-2 win over Fulham in the Premier League.
Alphonse Areola, coming off of an impressive World Cup campaign with France, will get his first start for West Ham in goal.
Ahead of him, Kehrer, Ogbonna, Coufal and Emerson will make up the back-four, with Kehrer and Emerson offering attacking threat with their play up the pitch.
Midfield sees a reshuffle with Lanzini, Lucas Paqueta and Flynn Downes forming a trio in the engine room.
That will leave Benrahma, Gianluca Scamacca and Jarrod Bowen as an attacking triumvirate.
West Ham will be looking to progress to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup for the first time in three seasons, having been knocked out at this stage by Tottenham Hotspur in 2020/21 and Manchester City last season.
West Ham United starting line-up against Blackburn Rovers:
Areola; Coufal, Kehrer, Ogbonna, Emerson; Lanzini, Paqueta, Downes; Benrahma, Scamacca, Bowen
