Volleyball Recap: Saint Thomas Aquinas Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven
Saint Thomas Aquinas Defeats Cardinal Mooney High School
In an exciting match at home, Saint Thomas Aquinas volleyball team extended their home winning streak to seven games against Cardinal Mooney High School. The Lady Raiders won 25-22, 25-15, 25-17 to improve their record to 10-3 on the season. Senior outside hitter Molly McCarthy.led the way for the Raiders with 13 kills, while senior setter Makenna Voyles had 25 assists.
Strong Defense and Serving
The Raiders played well defensively all night, holding Cardinal Mooney to just a 10.5% hitting percentage. Senior libero Lexi Powell had a team-high 14 digs, while McCarthy and Voyles each added 10 digs. The Raiders also served well, with seven aces as a team.
Balanced Offensive Attack
In addition to McCarthy's big night, the Raiders had a balanced offensive attack. Junior middle hitter Grace Mehall had nine kills, while sophomore outside hitter Brigid O'Malley added eight kills.
Looking Ahead
The Raiders will be back in action on Tuesday, November 15th at home against St. Pius X Catholic High School. First serve is set for 7:00 pm.
