Event to Feature Lightweight Bout Between Islam Makhachev and Beneil Dariush
Fight Night to be Held on February 25 at Etihad Arena
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is set to hold a Fight Night event in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on February 25, 2023. The event will be headlined by a lightweight bout between Islam Makhachev and Beneil Dariush.
Makhachev, the current UFC lightweight champion, is on a 10-fight winning streak. He won the title in October 2022 by defeating Charles Oliveira at UFC 280. Dariush, ranked No. 4 in the UFC lightweight rankings, is on a seven-fight winning streak. He last fought in October 2022, defeating Mateusz Gamrot via unanimous decision.
The fight between Makhachev and Dariush is expected to be a close and competitive contest. Both fighters are well-rounded and have a strong wrestling base. Makhachev is known for his dominant grappling skills, while Dariush is a submission specialist.
