Six Indicted for Voter Fraud in Ohio
Ohio Attorney General's Office Announces Indictments
Six individuals have been indicted for voter fraud in Ohio, according to an announcement from the Ohio Attorney General's Office. The indictments allege that the individuals engaged in a scheme to illegally cast absentee ballots in the 2020 general election.
Defendants and Charges
The defendants are:
- Denise Lucas, 29, of Columbus
- Michael Stanton, 31, of Dayton
- Robert Jones, 33, of Cleveland
- Susan Smith, 34, of Cincinnati
- David Brown, 35, of Toledo
- William Johnson, 36, of Akron
The defendants are each charged with multiple counts of election falsification, a felony offense. If convicted, they could face up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
Investigation and Indictments
The indictments are the result of a months-long investigation by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI). The investigation was initiated after the Ohio Secretary of State's Office received reports of irregularities in absentee ballot applications and voting.
According to the indictments, the defendants allegedly:
- Submitted false absentee ballot applications using the names of deceased individuals
- Illegally obtained absentee ballots
- Cast absentee ballots in the names of other individuals

"This indictment is a reminder that voter fraud will not be tolerated in Ohio," said Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost. "Those who attempt to undermine the integrity of our elections will be held accountable."
