Serbia’s Danilovic makes first hard-court final in Guangzhou
After four semi-final losses, Olga Danilovic made her first hard-court final in Guangzhou on Saturday.
The 21-year-old saved two match points in her semi-final against China’s Wang Xinyu, before claiming a 3-6, 7-6(6), 6-4 victory to reach her second final of the season.
Danilovic, who won her maiden WTA title on clay in Belgrade in May, will face fifth-seeded Zhang Shuai in Sunday’s final.
Zhang, a former world No.23, reached the final with a 6-2, 6-0 win against 2019 Guangzhou champion Sofia Kenin.
Danilovic is currently ranked 133rd in the world, while Zhang is ranked 27th.
