Police: 4 killed in crash, car fire in Thornton
Four people were killed in a fiery car crash in Thornton early Saturday morning, police say.
The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 25 near 120th Avenue.
Police said a car going the wrong way on the interstate crashed head-on into another car.
The impact of the crash caused both cars to catch fire.
The four people in the car that was going the wrong way were killed.
The driver of the other car was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police are investigating the crash.
They have not yet released the names of the victims.
The crash closed down eastbound I-25 for several hours.
It reopened around 6:30 a.m.
