The history of public transport in Russia begins in the 19th century, when horse-drawn trams appeared on the streets of Russian cities. The first bus in Russia appeared in 1906 in the city of Armavir. The first trolleybus appeared in Moscow in 1933.
Automobile and city passenger transport is an important part of the infrastructure of any modern city. Every day, millions of people use the services of buses, trolleybuses, trams and metro.
