Legendary Actress Expresses Sentiments on Husband's Absence and the Future of the Show

Following the passing of legendary actor Nikolai Karachentsov, his wife, Lyudmila Porgina, has spoken out about the decision to replace him in the iconic musical "Juno and Avos".

In an interview, Porgina expressed both sadness and a sense of responsibility towards the production. "No one can play the role of Rezanov like Kolya," she said. "But the show must go on, and I hope that the new actor will do him justice."

Karachentsov had played the role of Count Rezanov in "Juno and Avos" for over 40 years, becoming synonymous with the character. His death in October 2021 left a void in the theatrical community and among fans of the musical.

Porgina revealed that the decision to replace Karachentsov was not an easy one. "We thought about canceling the show," she said. "But then we realized that Kolya would have wanted it to continue."
