MotoGP, Bagnaia: "Martin can win or he could finish sixth or crash"
Bagnaia explains MartinĀ“s abilities
Francesco Bagnaia spoke about Jorge Martin, who will start from pole position in the Styrian Grand Prix, in the press conference prior to the race. Bagnaia says the Pramac Ducati rider "can win or he could finish sixth or crash."
"He can win or he could finish sixth or crash"
"Honestly, I expect anything from Jorge," said the championship leader. "He can win or he could finish sixth or crash, there's no in-between. He's a rider that takes a lot of risks and sometimes it pays off, but sometimes it doesn't."
"I think he's a very, very fast rider, but he needs to be more consistent. If he can do that, he can be a title contender. But for now, I think he's just happy to be on the podium and fighting for wins," Bagnaia added.
Martin has been one of the most impressive riders in MotoGP this season, taking two podiums and a pole position in his first seven races. However, he has also crashed out of two races, which has cost him valuable points in the championship.
Bagnaia, on the other hand, has been the model of consistency this season, finishing on the podium in all but one of the seven races so far. He leads the championship by 44 points over Fabio Quartararo, who will start from second on the grid.
