Former Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino praised Vinicius Junior’s performance last season, highlighting his growth and importance for Real Madrid. The Brazilian winger was one of the standout performers for the Spanish giants, playing a key role in their La Liga and Champions League triumphs.
Martino, who is now in charge of Mexico’s national team, believes that Vinicius has taken his game to a new level in the past year. The Argentine coach said that the 22-year-old has improved his decision-making and is now more clinical in front of goal.
"Vinicius was the best player in La Liga last season," Martino said. "He has grown a lot and is now one of the most important players for Real Madrid. He is a very dangerous player and can create chances for himself and others.
"He has also improved his decision-making and is now more clinical in front of goal. He is a very exciting player to watch and I think he has the potential to become one of the best players in the world."
Vinicius scored 22 goals and provided 20 assists in all competitions for Real Madrid last season. He was named the UEFA Champions League Young Player of the Season and was also included in the FIFPro World XI.
The Brazilian winger has continued his good form this season, scoring three goals in Real Madrid’s first three La Liga games. He is expected to play a key role for the Spanish giants as they look to defend their La Liga and Champions League titles.
