David Boreanaz marches to Marine Corps Marathon finish line
NCIS actor joins thousands of runners for annual race
David Boreanaz, star of NCIS, pounded the pavement at the Marine Corps Marathon on Sunday, joining thousands of other runners in the annual race.
The actor, who is a longtime supporter of the military, finished the 26.2-mile course in 4 hours and 15 minutes.
Boreanaz, 53, said he was inspired to run the marathon by his father, who served in the Marine Corps.
"My father was a Marine, so this race has always been special to me," Boreanaz said. "It's an honor to be able to run alongside these brave men and women."
The Marine Corps Marathon is one of the largest marathons in the world, with more than 30,000 runners participating this year.
The race begins in Arlington, Virginia, and finishes near the Marine Corps War Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Boreanaz said he was grateful for the support of his fans and fellow runners.
"It was an amazing experience," Boreanaz said. "I'm so glad I was able to be a part of it."
In addition to his acting career, Boreanaz is also a producer and director.
He is best known for his roles as Angel on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Seeley Booth on Bones.
Boreanaz is currently starring in the 20th season of NCIS.
The show is one of the most popular dramas on television and has won numerous awards.
Boreanaz is also a philanthropist and has worked with several charities, including the USO and the Red Cross.
He is a role model for many young people and is an inspiration to all who know him.
