Lille scores past Lens in dying moments of match
Dramatic finish as both goals scored in second-half stoppage time
Burak Yilmaz’s penalty earns point for LOSC
LOSC Lille salvaged a point in dramatic fashion in a 2-2 draw at RC Lens on Sunday as Burak Yilmaz converted an injury-time penalty after Florian Sotoca had put the hosts ahead in the ninth minute of stoppage time.
Lens led for most of the match after Jonathan Clauss scored early in the second half but Lille substitute Jonathan David equalized in the 87th minute.
The hosts thought they had snatched victory when Sotoca turned in a cross from Przemysław Frankowski deep into added time, but Lille substitute Xeka was fouled in the area in the dying seconds and Yilmaz stepped up to beat Jean-Louis Leca from the spot.
The result leaves Lille 11th in the Ligue 1 standings on 46 points, while Lens are seventh on 51 points.
