Aaron Rodgers' key weapon misses second Jets practice
Davante Adams still sidelined with toe injury
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams missed his second consecutive practice on Wednesday due to a toe injury, putting his status for Sunday's game against the New York Jets in jeopardy.
Adams, who is Aaron Rodgers' favorite target, was injured in the Packers' Week 1 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He played through the pain and finished the game with six catches for 66 yards, but he has been limited in practice ever since.
The Packers are hoping that Adams will be able to play on Sunday, but they are preparing for the possibility that he will not. If Adams is unable to go, Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling would be the Packers' top two wide receivers.
The Jets are also dealing with some injuries at the wide receiver position. Jamison Crowder, who is the Jets' leading receiver, is dealing with a groin injury. He missed practice on Wednesday, but he is expected to play on Sunday.
The Packers and Jets are both 0-1, so Sunday's game is a must-win for both teams. The Packers will be looking to get their first win of the season, while the Jets will be looking to avoid an 0-2 start.
