Jack Britt: From College Standout to NFL Veteran
Early Life and College Career
Jack Britt was born in Tampa, Florida, on September 8, 1987. He attended Armwood High School, where he played football, basketball, and baseball. Britt was recruited to play college football at the University of Tennessee. He played for the Volunteers from 2006 to 2009, starting 27 games at left tackle.
Britt was named to the All-SEC Second Team in 2008 and 2009. He was also named to the All-American Second Team by the Sporting News in 2009.
NFL Career
Britt was selected by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He started 16 games at left tackle for the Bears in his rookie season. Britt was named to the Pro Bowl in 2012 and 2013.
Britt signed a five-year, $50 million contract extension with the Bears in 2014. He was released by the Bears in 2017 and signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Britt started 16 games at left tackle for the Buccaneers in 2017 and 2018. He was released by the Buccaneers in 2019 and signed with the Carolina Panthers.
Britt was released by the Panthers in 2020 and has not played in the NFL since.
