The University of Hawai'i at Manoa campus is abuzz with excitement as Homecoming weekend approaches, bringing with it a host of festivities and the highly anticipated football game between the Rainbow Warriors and the Nevada Wolf Pack. Held at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex, the game is set to kick off on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, at 6 p.m.
Events planned throughout the weekend
The Homecoming celebration extends beyond the football field, with a variety of events planned throughout the weekend. Festivities officially begin on Thursday, Oct. 13, with the annual Homecoming Block Party, featuring food trucks, live music, and a beer garden. On Friday, Oct. 14, the UH Alumni Association will host a Homecoming Golf Tournament at the Hawaii Country Club.
The weekend culminates with the Homecoming Parade on Saturday, Oct. 15, along University Avenue, showcasing UH student groups, alumni, and community organizations. The parade will be followed by the traditional pre-game tailgate party at the Stan Sheriff Center, where fans can enjoy food, drinks, and live entertainment.
Football team ready to showcase skills against Nevada
On the field, the Rainbow Warriors will be looking to build on their momentum after a hard-fought win over the New Mexico Lobos. Quarterback Brayden Schager will lead the offense, aiming to connect with wide receivers Zion Bowens and Nick Mardner. The defense, anchored by linebacker Darius Muasau and defensive end Jonah Laulu, will be tasked with containing Nevada's potent rushing attack.
The Wolf Pack, led by quarterback Nate Cox and running back Toa Taua, will present a formidable challenge for the Rainbow Warriors. Both teams are eager to secure a victory and add another chapter to their storied rivalry.
