Golden Knights Extend Win Streak to 5 Games
The Vegas Golden Knights won their fifth straight game with a 7-3 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night at T-Mobile Arena. The Golden Knights have now won eight of their last ten games and are 10-3-1 on the season.
Reilly Smith led the way for the Golden Knights with two goals and an assist. William Karlsson and Chandler Stephenson each added a goal and two assists, while Jack Eichel and Shea Theodore each had a goal and an assist.
The Sharks got goals from Timo Meier, Erik Karlsson, and Logan Couture, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Golden Knights' offensive firepower.
Golden Knights Dominate from the Start
The Golden Knights took control of the game from the opening faceoff and never looked back. They outshot the Sharks 16-5 in the first period and took a 2-0 lead on goals from Smith and Karlsson.
The Golden Knights continued to pour it on in the second period, scoring three more goals to take a 5-1 lead. Stephenson, Eichel, and Theodore all scored in the period, and the Golden Knights chased Sharks goalie James Reimer from the game.
Sharks Make a Push in the Third
The Sharks showed some life in the third period, scoring two goals to cut the Golden Knights' lead to 5-3. Meier and Couture both scored for the Sharks, but it was too little, too late.
The Golden Knights added two more goals in the third period, one from Smith and one from Theodore, to seal the victory.
Logan Thompson Strong in Net for Golden Knights
Logan Thompson made 28 saves for the Golden Knights to earn the win. He was particularly strong in the third period, when the Sharks made a push to get back in the game.
The Golden Knights' next game is on Thursday night at home against the Anaheim Ducks.
