Cruz Azul adds another victory to their undefeated streak

Mexico City, February 12 (Notistarz). - Cruz Azul achieved their fifth consecutive victory this Saturday by defeating last-place Pumas 0-2 in the ninth matchday of the Liga MX 2024.

The goals for the "Machine" were scored by Gonzalo Carneiro and Uriel Antuna, who extended the good moment that the team led by Raul "Potro" Gutierrez is going through.

Goals and Highlights

Cruz Azul started the match by dominating possession of the ball and generating the clearest scoring chances.

The first goal came in the 25th minute when Antuna sent a cross from the left wing that Carneiro connected with a header at the near post.

The second goal came in the 65th minute, when Antuna took advantage of an error by the Pumas defense and defined with a shot inside the area.

With this victory, Cruz Azul reached 16 points and climbed to fifth place in the standings, while Pumas remains at the bottom with only three points.

In the next matchday, Cruz Azul will host Necaxa on February 17, while Pumas will visit Mazatlan on February 19.
