Francesco Bagnaia Unphased by MotoGP Standings: “20 Points Is Not a Huge Gap”
Bagnaia Shows Confidence Despite Miller's Lead
Francesco Bagnaia remains optimistic despite being 20 points behind Jack Miller in the MotoGP championship standings. The Ducati rider believes the gap is not insurmountable and is confident in his ability to make up the deficit.
Bagnaia's Positive Mentality
"20 points is not a huge gap," Bagnaia said. "I know I have the pace and the bike to win races. I just need to focus on my own performance and not worry about the others."
Bagnaia's confidence stems from his strong start to the season, which included a victory at the opening round in Qatar. He has also been consistently finishing on the podium, including a second-place finish at the recent Italian Grand Prix.
Miller's Strong Form
However, Bagnaia knows that Miller will be a tough opponent to beat. The Australian rider has won three races this season and has been in excellent form.
"Jack is riding very well at the moment," Bagnaia said. "But I'm not worried. I know I can beat him. I just need to keep working hard and improving my performance.
Remaining Races
There are still eight races remaining in the MotoGP season, giving Bagnaia plenty of time to make up the points deficit. The next race is the Dutch Grand Prix at Assen on June 26.
Bagnaia is confident that he can win the championship. "I'm not going to give up," he said. "I'm going to keep fighting until the end."
