Vasilyev says he helped Pyanich get his coaching qualifications and secure a job, but has not been paid
Former Russian biathlete Alexander Vasilyev has accused Belarusian coach Yuri Pyanich of greed, claiming that he has not been paid for his help in Pyanich's coaching career.
Vasilyev, who won three Olympic gold medals and eight world championship titles during his biathlon career, said he helped Pyanich get his coaching qualifications and secure a job as the head coach of the Russian national biathlon team.
However, Vasilyev said that Pyanich has not paid him for his help, despite promising to do so on several occasions.
"I helped Yuri Pyanich get his coaching qualifications and secure a job as the head coach of the Russian national biathlon team," Vasilyev said in an interview with Russian newspaper Sport-Express. "I helped him with everything, from getting his paperwork in order to finding him a place to live in Russia.
"But he has not paid me for my help, despite promising to do so on several occasions. I am very disappointed in him."
Pyanich has not yet commented on Vasilyev's accusations.
