ESPN Broadcast Gives Update on Florida State's QB Plan Between Brock Glenn, Luke Kromenhoek
Florida State is still determining its starting quarterback for the 2023 season.
ESPN's Marty Smith reported on Saturday during the Florida State Seminoles spring game broadcast that the starting quarterback competition between redshirt freshman Brock Glenn and redshirt sophomore Luke Kromenhoek is "still very much up in the air." Smith added that the two quarterbacks have been "splitting reps pretty evenly" throughout spring practice thus far.
Glenn saw more first-team reps in Saturday's spring game.
In front of a crowd of 41,178 at Doak Campbell Stadium, Glenn completed 12-of-18 passes for 133 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 31 yards and a touchdown on five carries. Kromenhoek, on the other hand, completed 10-of-16 passes for 125 yards and an interception.
Florida State head coach Mike Norvell said he was "pleased" with the performances of both quarterbacks.
Norvell said that he was "really encouraged" by the play of Glenn, who is a former four-star recruit. He also said that he was "impressed" by the way Kromenhoek "competed" and "made some really good throws." Norvell added that he is "looking forward to seeing how these guys continue to develop" throughout the rest of spring practice and into the summer.
Florida State will open the 2023 season on August 26th at home against Duquesne.
