Caufield scores twice as Canadiens defeat Coyotes
Cole Caufield scored twice as the Montreal Canadiens snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 5-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday night.
Caufield's goals came in the second period, the first on a power play and the second on a breakaway.
The first of his goals came at the 8:22 mark of the second period, a power-play goal that tied the game at 1-1.
His second goal came just over 5 minutes later, with Caufield stealing the puck from Coyotes defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere and then going in alone on goaltender Connor Ingram.
Caufield's goals give him 11 on the season
With his two goals on Saturday, Caufield now has 11 goals on the season, which is tied for the team lead with Nick Suzuki.
Caufield's goals were part of a four-goal second period for the Canadiens, who also got goals from Kirby Dach and Mike Matheson.
The Canadiens' win snapped a seven-game losing streak and improved their record to 11-14-2 on the season.
