Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that his team were "outplayed" by Barcelona in their 4-0 defeat at the Camp Nou on Saturday.Madrid were without a number of key players, including Karim Benzema, Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao, but Ancelotti said that was no excuse for the performance his team produced
"We were outplayed by a better team," Ancelotti said in his post-match press conference. "They were more intense, they played with more quality and they created more chances. We didn't play well and we deserved to lose." Madrid have now lost three of their last four games in all competitions and Ancelotti admitted that his team are in a difficult moment.The defeat also leaves Madrid seven points behind Barcelona in the La Liga standings, and Ancelotti said that his team need to improve quickly if they want to challenge for the title
"We are not in a good moment," Ancelotti said. "We need to improve our play and we need to start winning games again. We have a lot of quality in this team, but we need to show it on the pitch."Madrid's next game is against Elche at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday, and Ancelotti said that his team need to use the match to get back to winning ways.

Madrid's defeat against Barcelona was their heaviest since a 5-0 loss to the same opponents in 2018.
It was also the first time that Madrid had lost by four goals or more in La Liga since a 4-0 defeat to Valencia in 2019.
