Beware — a new scheme of deception of parents of schoolchildren
The essence of deception
Scammers call parents and say that their child has been in an accident or has committed a crime. They demand money for the "release" of the child. In most cases, the parents transfer the money without checking the information.
How to protect yourself from scammers
- Do not panic and do not rush to transfer money.
- Call the child or his class teacher, find out if everything is in order with him.
- If the child is really in trouble, contact the police or the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
- Do not give out personal information over the phone, including your child's name and age.
- If you have any doubts, hang up and call the police.
