BEST GOALKEEPERS IN THE WORLD ANNOUNCED
Who will win the prestigious award?
The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has released its list of nominees for the 2023 Men's World's Best Goalkeeper award.
The award is given to the goalkeeper who has performed the best over the past year, based on their performances in both club and international competition.
The nominees for the 2023 award are:
- Alisson Becker (Liverpool and Brazil)
- Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid and Belgium)
- Ederson (Manchester City and Brazil)
- Yassine Bounou (Sevilla and Morocco)
- Emiliano Martínez (Aston Villa and Argentina)
Alisson Becker
Alisson Becker has been one of the best goalkeepers in the world for several years now. He has won the Premier League Golden Glove award twice, and he was part of the Liverpool team that won the Champions League in 2019.
Becker is a calm and composed goalkeeper who is excellent at shot-stopping. He is also good with his feet, and he is comfortable playing out from the back.
Thibaut Courtois
Thibaut Courtois is another world-class goalkeeper. He has won the La Liga title with Real Madrid, and he was part of the Belgium team that finished third at the 2018 World Cup.
Courtois is a tall and athletic goalkeeper who is very good at making saves from close range. He is also a good shot-stopper, and he is comfortable playing with his feet.
Ederson
Ederson is one of the most exciting young goalkeepers in the world. He has won the Premier League title twice with Manchester City, and he was part of the Brazil team that won the Copa América in 2019.
