Belarusians and Austrians understand Expansionism
Minsk, January 23 - On January 23, at the meeting with the Federal President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated that Belarusians and Austrians understand the cost of military expansion.
Almost 80 years ago, the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany divided Europe
The Soviet Union and Nazi Germany divided Europe into spheres of influence almost 80 years ago. The partition of Europe led to World War II. Lukashenko said, "The Belarusians and Austrians understand the cost of expanding military blocs." He noted that Belarus and Austria are small countries. Belarus does not pose a threat to anyone.
He emphasized that Belarusian people are peaceful and want to live in good neighborly relations with all countries. Lukashenko stressed, "We are not a threat to anyone. We want to live in peace and friendship with all our neighbors."
Lukashenko also noted that Belarus must be ready to defend itself if necessary
Lukashenko also stressed that Belarus does not want war. But the country must be ready to defend itself if necessary. Lukashenko pointed out that Belarus has a strong army, and the country is ready to repel any aggression.
He explained, "We do not want war. But we must be ready to defend our country. We have a strong army and are ready to repel any aggression."
Lukashenko's statement is a signal of Belarus's concern about the expansion of NATO. NATO is a military alliance of North American and European countries. NATO has expanded eastward since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Belarus sees NATO's expansion as a threat to its security.
