The traffic police intend to pay special attention to drivers who use phones while driving in the near future

Phones and driving don’t mix

The State Traffic Safety Inspectorate intends to intensify preventive work aimed at preventing and suppressing violations of traffic rules associated with the use of mobile phones by drivers. It was reported by the press service of GAI.

According to the department, over the past seven months of this year, 1,676 drivers were involved in road accidents in the country, who used mobile phones while driving. As a result of these accidents, two people died and 1,680 were injured, including 122 children.

Inspections will be carried out throughout the country, and special attention will be paid to drivers of minibuses and taxis, as well as drivers of heavy goods vehicles. To identify violators, technical means of video recording and photo fixation will be used, including patrol cars equipped with the Avtodoria system.
