Rafe Judkins, the showrunner behind Amazon's "The Wheel of Time" adaptation, has signed on to lead the upcoming "God of War" TV series for the streaming giant.
Judkins brings a wealth of experience in adapting popular fantasy properties to the screen. His work on "The Wheel of Time" garnered critical acclaim for its faithfulness to the source material while also introducing new and compelling elements.
Judkins' Vision for 'God of War'
In an interview with Variety, Judkins expressed his excitement about the opportunity to work on "God of War" and shared his vision for the show.

Exploring Kratos and Atreus' Journey
The "God of War" TV series will adapt the events of the 2018 game reboot, which follows the journey of Kratos and his son, Atreus, as they embark on a dangerous quest to spread the ashes of Kratos' late wife.
Judkins plans to explore the complex father-son relationship between Kratos and Atreus, as well as the deeper themes of mythology, destiny, and redemption that permeate the story.
Faithful to the Source Material
While Judkins is open to making necessary changes to adapt the game to television, he emphasized the importance of staying true to the source material.
"I want to honor what fans love about the games while also introducing new elements that will surprise and engage them," Judkins said.
