Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - Saudi Pro League leaders Al Hilal continued their impressive run of form by securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Al Taawoun on Saturday.
The win extends Al Hilal's winning streak to eight games and consolidates their position at the top of the league standings.
First Half Dominance
Al Hilal controlled the first half and took a deserved lead in the 25th minute through a close-range finish from Odion Ighalo.
The visitors pressed for an equalizer, but Al Hilal's defense held firm, restricting Al Taawoun to long-range efforts.
Second Half Fightback
Al Taawoun came out with renewed vigor in the second half and managed to level the scores in the 60th minute through a stunning strike from Abdulmajeed Al Sulaiheem.
However, Al Hilal responded positively and regained the lead just seven minutes later courtesy of a well-taken goal from Gustavo Cuellar.

The win secured three crucial points for Al Hilal, who now sit eight points clear of second-placed Al Shabab.
Al Taawoun, meanwhile, remain in eighth place, but their hopes of challenging for a top-four finish have been dealt a setback.
